Notes:
"james branch cabell and arthur machen: certain analogies between their early works" by Nathan van Patten was first published in 1930 in the premier issue of Hesperian, a San Francisco arts magazine, and as an offprint (E21), also in 1930[?]. Mrs. Brewer seems to have missed this particular article, and James Hall lists only the stand-alone printing. Based on his description, it seems likely that he never realized that his E21 entry was a magazine offprint.
