While we generally don't reproduce inscriptions in books, we do occasionally do so, especially when the inscription has bibliographic or historical value. In this case, Mr. Cabell's inscription to George Keating (on the FFEP of Keating's copy) is of interest:
For George T. Keating
my part hereinafter which is
noteworthy, if at all, as the germ
of Straws and Prayer Books.James Branch Cabell
The note is undated, but Mr. Cabell's signature is in his later Storisende style, so it dates from the late 1920s at the earliest.
